We have a commitment to support worthy causes and this is demonstrated by our fundraising efforts for our five staff-nominated charities. We commit to support the charities in both fundraising and manpower needs for the period of a year until the next staff vote.
The current five staff-nominated charities are:
CLIC Sargent is the leading cancer charity for children, young people and their families. Its care teams provide specialist support across the UK.
The charity aims to aid the recovery of stroke patients in Guernsey and to help and comfort them as much as possible and to provide essential equipment where possible, also to run a stroke group for stroke victims, for social contact and cognitive rehabilitation.
Hospice Isle of Man provides an opportunity for enhancement of quality of life for people in the Isle of Man who are suffering from terminal cancer or who are otherwise suitable for hospice care and for whom palliative care is suitable and appropriate. The care includes physical, psychological, social and spiritual aspects and is provided by a multidisciplinary team, free of charge.
Hospice Isle of Man provides inpatient facilities including respite care, therapeutic day care, specialist nurses, social worker, counselling, a range of therapies and hospice at home service. Many patients are referred to the Hospice following diagnosis; they will often be cured but need the initial support of the Hospice.
Isle of Man Breast Care aims to give emotional and practical support to breast cancer patients, their families and friends.
The charity aims to promote the welfare of children in any country without differentiation on the grounds of race, colour, nationality, creed or sex: Supporting orphans and vulnerable children: Helping children get education: Keeping children free from hunger: Aiding in response to emergency disasters.
